Tampa Bay Lightning Chooses IP Application from SDC Solutions to Provide Superlative Guest Experience and Increase Advertising Revenues

SDC and TriNET Systems partner to deliver cutting-edge IP-based software for Avaya IP display phones

Manchester, NH — February 6, 2008 —  When the Tampa Bay Lightning opened this year’s hockey season at the St. Petersburg Times Forum, executive suite seat holders were treated to a new level of customer service and convenience as delivered by an Internet Protocol (IP) application developed by SDC Solutions and distributed by TriNET Systems.  SDC’s application, named IPBanner, is an IP-based solution that enables the Forum to provide a host of guest services at the push of a button and to deliver targeted banner advertising to each of the eighty-one executive suites using IP display phones.

In early 2007, the Tampa Bay Lightning approached TriNET looking for software that would leverage the Lightning’s investment in new Avaya IP phones. Lightning executives wanted a fresh idea to help deliver a 5-star experience to top-level clients. They were also looking to deliver targeted marketing messages and timely offers directly to the IP phones. After careful consideration, TriNET chose SDC Solutions to develop the new application. According to TriNET’s branch manager, Chris Parker, “TriNET opted to work with SDC Solutions because of SDC’s willingness to custom develop an application that would meet the Lightning’s specifications and would integrate seamlessly with the Avaya phone. SDC nailed it on the first try.”

SDC answered with IPBanner, a marketing and advertising application that delivers an unlimited number of banner messages to an unlimited number of IP display phones. The banners are simple to create, support text and high resolution graphics, and can be delivered one per event or on a specified rotation with refresh durations from 30 seconds to one hour. The application also provides customer-defined single button access to endpoints such as concessions, ticketing, attendant, security, and onsite retail locations. IPBanner’s benefits do not end with customer service enhancements. The Lightning is also able to use the application as a revenue generating source by selling banner ads to businesses and specialized groups and as a way to promote upcoming events.

The successful implementation of IPBanner has long-reaching implications. Future goals include expanding the application to include more services that will further boost the level of customer service and streamline marketing and advertising messaging.
