Six Avaya Development Partners Earn 2004 DeveloperConnection Program Leadership Awards

Recipients Honored for Innovative Products that Interoperate with Avaya Technology to Serve Customer Needs

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Avaya (NYSE: AV - News), a leading global provider of business communications software, systems and services, today announced that six of its third-party development partners have been honored with 2004 Avaya DeveloperConnection Leadership Awards. The annual awards recognize outstanding members of the Avaya DeveloperConnection (DevConnect) Program -- an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology to serve customer needs.

Interoperable solutions based on open standards allow businesses to add best-in-breed capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure. Interoperability speeds deployment of new applications and reduces both network complexity and implementation costs.

Five DevConnect members were honored with "2004 Sale of the Year" awards for their support of a major Avaya customer win in the hospitality sector. Honored were:

System Development Company of New Hampshire Inc. -- provided the customer with IntelliDESK® PC-based attendant console for hospitality. IntelliDESK facilitates multiple search criteria, uses a custom programmable keyboard for single keystroke access to guest information and wake-up call administration, and provides automatic database updating and paging through an easy-to-use interface.

Other DevConnect partners that participated and shared in the award are: Citrix Gateways (formerly Net6) of San Jose, Calif., Extreme Networks of Santa Clara, Calif., Juniper Networks of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Nice Systems of New York City and Tel Aviv, Israel.
